Distracted Driving
Distracted
driving is a dangerous epidemic on America's roadways today.
The main purpose of this policy is to protect the health and safety of drivers and riders, by prohibiting or restricting drivers from undertaking activities that distract their focus from driving safely.
Prohibited Activities – Drivers will not engage in the following while driving.

Operating a cell-phone
·
Operating a computer / laptop, text messaging device, or Global
Positioning System (GPS) tools and devices,
·
Reading (a book or newspaper, etc.)
·
Personal grooming
·
Using
headsets while driving
Drivers are not to be accompanied by any other persons other than the prescheduled riders and or the passengers accompanying them while operating a vehicle on our platform.
All drivers must utilize a hands-free device or Bluetooth technology when using a mobile phone while driving.
If driver needs to use their phones, they must pull over safely to the side of the road or another safe location.
Restricted Activities – A driver may undertake activities listed below provided they do not reduce the driver’s focus. Different driving environments and circumstances
•
Conversations with passengers
•
Adjusting the radio / MP3 / CD player
•
Adjusting vehicle climate controls, or other accessories,
•
Eating / drinking,
Enforcement
· Violations of this policy will be considered a serious matter and may be subject to disciplinary action.
· Violations of the distracted driving policy can result in deactivation from the Connect Tnc platform
Going
a few hours without checking your cell phone is not going to kill you but
answering a call or text while driving just might.
