Tips For Being Professional
Connect
emphasized being polite and courteous to our members but there are such things
as being too friendly, keeping conversation light and following the members’ lead.
Do not disclose your personal business to members. Avoid sensitive subjects
such as politics, religion, sexual orientation as well as dating, some members
look forward to a quiet peaceful ride and do not want to engage in
conversation. Do not force conversation with the member let them enjoy their
peace and quiet.
Note: Do not borrow money, loan money, accept or give gifts to members.
Interacting With Members
Drivers are
prohibited from asking or giving members or additional passengers personal
contact information. Members often feel unsafe and uncomfortable if you ask for
their number or to be their Facebook friend or any other form of social media
connections.
Member Focused
1. Driver
must not smoke in or around vehicle or while in the presence of any members.
2.
Driver
must not wear any type of headphones at any time while transporting members except
for hands-free headsets for mobile devices.
3. Driver must assist members getting in and out
of the vehicle and confirm that all seat belts are fastened.
4. No member
will be transported unless all members are buckled up.
5. The
number of people in the vehicle including the driver must not exceed the
vehicle manufacturers approve seating capacity or 7 riders.
6. Upon
arrival at the destination the vehicle must be parked or stopped so that
members do not have to cross streets to reach the entrance of their
destination.
7. Driver
must not leave members unattended in the vehicles unless it can be done safely.
8. Drivers
must not touch any members except as appropriate and necessary to assist member
into or out of the vehicle, into a seat to secure the seat belt, to render
first aid or assistance for which the driver has been trained.
